Melbourne Cup Winner could be a Jaguar Mail

Jaguar Mail could do what Delta Blues did back in 2006. The horse could be on track to becoming the 150th Melbourne Cup Winner. There are still doubts on whether or not Jaguar Mail will even compete in the 150th Melbourne Cup race but if the horse does, it has a great chance of winning.

Craig Williams who is a jockey rode Jaguar Mail to win the Tenno Sho in Japan. Williams has said the horse will be a great contender if it manages to get into the race that stops a nation.

There are many hurdles that must be overcome before an overseas horse gets to race in the Melbourne Cup. Weight and quarantine are two such issues that owner Katsumi Yoshida must overcome before he can allow his horse to enter. How much the weight the horse has to carry is a large deciding factor. Quarantine issues such as the Equine Influenze need to be addressed before a horse can come over to race in Australia.

Yoshida has said the Jaguar Mail is similar to Delta Blues and better than Pop Rock who came second in the same 2006 cup race. Dale Monteith who is the Chief Executive of the Victorian Racing Club believes that having Japanese horses compete in the 150th Melbourne Cup race will make it more special.

The race that stops a nation has just gotten a whole lot more interesting.
